News - WELCOME TO OUR NEW CLAN SECRETARY

P

lease join us in extending a very hearty welcome to Irene Cameron, our new Clan Secretary. A resident, with her partner Bill, of Edradour by Pitlochry, Irene holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Glasgow Caledonian University.

After a series of administrative career roles with a number of both private companies and public institutions, Irene has for the past two decades run her own consultancy business, providing bespoke secretarial, administrative/membership and finance/budgeting support, as well as comprehensive ad hoc project and event management services, to not-for-profit, charitable and professional organisations. Her impressive past and recent client list includes the Scottish Charity Finance Group, the Neurological Alliance of Scotland, the Royal Musical Association, the International Society of Prosthetics & Orthotics and the Scottish Association for the Study of Offending.

As with her predecessors, Irene’s role with us is part-time, but the Clan Society will be her sole employer, and once the current and unusual COVID19 circumstances and restrictions are past, the Clan Centre at Bruar will be her principal place of work. She is already there for limited periods every week, typically including Fridays because of House of Bruar’s winter/COVID schedule, which is currently restricting our Museum building opening days to Fridays and weekends.

Irene’s work email address is admin@donnachaidh.com. For any needed telephone contact, the Clan Centre landline, which is now functioning normally, is also from now on linked to a new Clan Donnachaidh mobile/cellphone number (see below) for both Clan Centre and Irene’s home working use, and she should thus be reachable during normal working hours from Tuesday to Friday inclusive. Messages left on either number will be picked up regularly.

Landline: +44 (0)1796 483770
Mobile/Cell: +44 (0)7931 217681

(Although the prospect of visitors to the Clan Centre/Museum in present circumstances is very small at best, it would still be desirable for anyone planning to visit the Museum to check also with House of Bruar, on 01796 483236, whether and if so for how many hours it will be open.)

Irene joined us in early October on a consultancy basis, but is now in the process of moving to employee status. As those of our members who have been in contact with her will already know, she has tackled the very substantial backlog of membership and other work with great energy and enthusiasm. She is also already working with your Council with the same drive and purpose in addressing our future challenges.

Welcome Irene!
